Daily updates are sent to families once per day, giving them a consistent, reliable window to check in on their loved one without needing to call.
When are updates sent?
Your community sets the daily send time during initial setup. Updates are typically scheduled to go out in the morning, reflecting activity and care information from the previous day.
How are families notified?
When a daily update is ready, families receive a notification prompting them to log in to the Caily app to view it. Families will not see sensitive health information in the notification itself — they are directed to the app where their information is secure.
Can we change our send time?
Yes — administrators and site champions can update the daily send time in your community settings. See the related article: How do I change notification timing?
What if an update isn't ready at the scheduled send time?
If data hasn't synced from your EHR by the scheduled send time, contact your Caily implementation lead or support team for assistance.
A few things to keep in mind:
Consistent send times help families build a routine around checking updates, which reduces the urge to call for information
Avoid scheduling sends during overnight hours when families are unlikely to see them promptly
For urgent or unplanned communications, use the chat feature or mass communication tools rather than waiting for the next daily update
