Voice-to-text lets staff add care notes by speaking rather than typing — a faster, hands-free option for busy caregivers on the floor.
Before You Begin
Voice-to-text uses your device's built-in microphone. Make sure your device's microphone is enabled and that Caily has permission to access it.
- iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → enable Caily
- Android: Settings → Apps → Caily → Permissions → enable Microphone
How to Add a Care Note Using Voice-to-Text
- Open the Caily app on your work device.
- Navigate to the resident you are adding a note for.
- Tap Add Care Note in the daily update section.
- Tap the microphone icon — this activates your device's native voice-to-text.
- Speak your note clearly — describe the resident's day, mood, activities, or any notable observations.
- Review the transcribed text for errors and correct as needed.
- Tap Save to attach the note to the resident's daily update.
Tips for Best Results
- Speak at a natural pace in a quiet environment
- Always review before saving — voice-to-text isn't perfect
- Keep notes warm and conversational, focused on the resident's day rather than clinical detail
- Never reference other residents or include information beyond what your template is configured to share
